RAINBOWLAND PLAYTIME

Once upon a time, somewhere high in the mountains, there was a boy named Pixie who loved to go outside and explore his backyard to see what he could find.

He lived in a house made of stone with many windows with shutters on them. Exploring his open-field backyard was exciting, and enjoyable, as the fresh air always made Pixie tired after playing.

After a good night’s sleep, Pixie decided to venture outside today. When Pixie finished his breakfast of blueberry pancakes, smothered with yummy syrup, he washed his sticky hands, and went out the door like a flash. “What a beautiful sunny day!” Pixie thought while walking towards a woodland area, off in the distance. The sky was blue with no clouds in sight, and the warm sun was shining on the pathway, making it look like gold. “Hmm” Pixie thought, I wonder if this could be the place beyond the golden pathway, that I dreamt of. Pixie was getting closer to the trees.

While walking down the golden pathway into the woods, Pixie could smell the sweetly scented air coming from someplace and heard noises off in the distance. All of a sudden, “Geego”, the frog, wearing big-rimmed glasses, leaped out of the bushes and startled Pixie.

The frog asked; "Is this the enchanted place where the magic waterfall is?” Pixie was astonished the frog was talking to him. “Frogs can’t talk” Pixie thought, so he shook his head and blinked his eyes a couple of times to see if this was a dream, or maybe Pixie was still sleeping in his warm bed.

Geego hopped down the golden pathway and Pixie followed him until they reached a clearing, where there was soft green grass for miles and a rocky wall to the left of the path. Out of the shiny rock wall, about half way up the wall, a beautiful rainbow falls gushed out. The water was magnificent and crystal clear, you could see right through it...”Wow! Is this real, or make believe?” Pixie mumbled to himself. Well he found out it was real as he walked up to the waters edge and put his hand into the pool of water below the falls. It was cold and fresh to the taste as he was getting a bit thirsty.
Just ahead, right where this fresh smelling spring fed waterfall was created, low and behold there were thousands of scattered wild flowers. They were all different colors too!
These blossoming coloured flowers were so magnificent, your mind could only imagine. And what a beautiful aroma they left in the air, you could smell them a mile away. Pixie was smelling these flowers earlier, at the beginning of the woodland entrance.

Pixie couldn’t image what he was seeing, right in his own backyard! It seemed like it was in a dream.

Pixie was so tired he decided to lie down in the soft green grass and fell asleep. Drifting into another world, Pixie dreamt he was on a magical flying carpet. All of a sudden he heard someone say, ““Who said that carpet can come into my special place?” It was princess Nok-a-Nok, who spoke. She said that ratty carpet needed some more color to its threads. To Pixie’s surprise, the princess sprinkled her gold dust in the air, and “poof” the rainbow gold dust turned that ratty carpet into a shiny new rainbow rug!

While all this magic was about, peeking around the rainbow tree was an itsy-bitsy worm.

“What’s the matter little worm?” asked the princess. The sad looking worm had a surprised look on his face, to think someone was actually talking to him. The princess asked the worm if his name was as colorful as all the other things in this place. “NO!” the worm replied. I have a name; everyone calls me “Sneaky”. I’m a tiny slithering creature who likes to wander in the tall green grass.

Geego says that princess Nok-a-Nok will help you feel better all over and then you will be happy today, OK Sneaky? Sneaky liked this idea and slithered up the nearest tree, looking for the tastiest juicy heart-icicle to eat. All of a sudden, a burst of “Yaa-Hooo!” was heard for miles around.

After Sneaky ate a heart- icicle he started to turn different colors! Sneaky was so happy and now he felt like everyone else here in Rainbowland.

Let your mind flow and think of where Pixie might travel next.

Thank you stars as I have this story and would love to put it into a children's booklet form. Maybe I am asking too much right now as everything costs money to do and being on a fixed income is a struggle.

Will keep working on this as something might show up unexpectedly..LOL

One never knows what the next minute of the day will bring.
